Further information

The Royal Society of Chemistry is looking for a student member to work as a science writer in our editorial office this summer. You will gain experience working for two of our publications: Chemistry World and Education in Chemistry. This eight week position, supported by the Marriott Bequest Trust, will provide a hands-on introduction to the complete editorial process from writing and editing to page layout and printing.

With an interest in science communication, you’ll demonstrate an enthusiasm for writing and will probably be coming towards the end of, or have recently completed, your chemical science degree or postgraduate course. If that sounds like you, please send your CV accompanied by a letter describing how you would benefit from the experience. We also need to see three varied samples of your previously published written work. If you don’t have any available samples, compose some of your own Chemistry World-style news pieces based on recent journal papers or current events.

Applications should be e-mailed to jobs@rsc.org quoting ref 0011

Closing date: Sunday 18 May 2014
